Litterra is a unique museum exhibition focused on Slovak literary creation. It collects, preserves, maintains, exhibits, and interprets artifacts, works of art, and other objects of cultural, historical, scientific, and educational significance for the public. Our aim is to provide visitors with the opportunity to discover and experience the past while preserving and passing on cultural heritage, particularly that of the Gemer region, the cradle of Slovak education.
We combine artistic, creative, and technological elements to create value that encompasses diverse aspects of human life and expression. These aspects have been profoundly shaped by values, beliefs, religion, art, customs, traditions, and social norms. We strive to preserve this cultural heritage and the creativity of individuals.
We offer visitors the opportunity to engage with objects and installations through interpreted stories, personal experiences, and educational activities. We provide not only the chance to step directly into the action of great stories and discover their hidden corners, but also invite visitors to participate in creating them.
We perceive culture as dynamic and constantly evolving, responding to current social and political events, as well as economic and technological trends.
Litterra is a place where old stories come to life and new stories are born. One of them is the story of Litterra itself.
